Project Officer Biosecurity – Permanent full-time position
The New England Weeds Authority (NEWA) is a single purpose organisation that provides services in the areas of Biosecurity management (weeds control, education, inspection and monitoring). More information about NEWA can be found on the website www.newa.com.au.
NEWA is seeking a senior member of our management team, who is able to identify grant and funding opportunities, prepare estimations and proposals, manage vegetation control projects and assist the project team to meet grant funding, regulatory, operational and financial outcomes required by the government and the community. The role will also be expected to undertake field and project management activities to support funded programs and advisory services, to enable management of plant biosecurity within the New England Region.

About you
The ideal applicant will have strong leadership experience in biosecurity management (weed control, education, inspection and project management) and the ability to schedule workloads and prioritise work demands without close supervision.
You will have a proven ability to work in a small team at a senior level and problem solve, always keeping workplace safety at front of mind. The right person for this job has a 'can do' attitude focused on delivering profitable outcomes for the community, customers and member Councils.
You will be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors. We seek someone who takes pride in doing a great job and wants to contribute to ensure NEWA meets community, customer and member council expectations, with a love of the environment.

- A competitive salary negotiable from $1,449.90 to $1,656.48 per week + 10.5% superannuation and when required payment for overtime
- 35 ordinary hours per week;
