The New England Tablelands (Noxious Plants) County Council, trading as New England Weeds Authority, is a single purpose local government authority, established under Section 387 of the Local Government Act 1993, as the control authority for noxious weeds in the Armidale Regional Council, Uralla Shire Council and Walcha Council areas.

The New England Weeds Authority has been serving the community since 1947. Our purpose is to administer the Noxious Weeds Act and control declared noxious weeds within the New England Region. 

Our website has been designed to provide detailed information about our Council and services that we provide.

ARMIDALE TO HOST THE 19TH NSW BIENNIAL WEEDS CONFERENCE IN 2017

NEWA has been successful in its bid to host this important Conference in October, 2017. It brings together Weeds professionals from across the state in a 3 day event with talks from the Industry's leading experts and case studies from Council Weeds Officers on the ground.
